Weekly Evolution Transit Report 11-20-2018

I hope this Update finds you well and heading to spend the holiday with people who make you feel loved and valued.

I’m on my way to Houston to spend Thanksgiving with my family.

Thanksgiving is the season of – well – giving thanks.  Truthfully, as a pretty logical, head-y person, I used to think that gratitude was kind of ridiculous.

I certainly had a loooooong cycle in my life around my late 30’s to mid-40’s where I really didn’t fee grateful for much.  I was bitter about my divorce, bitter about the financial pressure of raising four kids by myself, bitter about not really feeling like I had a way out of the cycle I was stuck in.  I was bitter about my health challenges, bitter about how unfair it was…

As I said, I wasn’t very grateful.

What it took me about 10 years to notice was that throughout all of that bitterness, I had so much to be grateful for and I missed it!  I didn’t get to let it pop my Heart open.  I didn’t get to sit in appreciation with tears of joy rolling down my cheeks.  I didn’t take the moments to breathe in the essence of my children as they grew into young adults.  I didn’t even really appreciate the moment when my publisher accepted my first Human Design book.

I went through a whole, huge chunk of my life thinking I wasn’t being supported when I was.  I was so ridiculously and profoundly supported and instead of wallowing in my joy, I suffered.  For. No. Reason.

Gratitude isn’t just a “positive attitude”.  Science shows us that a regular practice of gratitude can actually ease the symptoms of anxiety and depression.  (Even if you’re faking it when you start your practice!)

Gratitude can help you release yourself from toxic, old emotions.  You literally can’t change a situation you’re stuck in when you’re hating the situation.  Love and gratitude are the currencies of transformation.

Gratitude decreases cortisol levels and promotes Heart Coherence.  That means that being grateful makes you look like you have less wrinkles (yippeee!).  It increases your immune response.  Helps protect you from the effects of stress and raises your “happy” hormones, serotonin and dopamine.

Here’s the catch, though.  Science shows that a regular practice of gratitude can take a while before you permanently change your brain – even though it helps you feel better immediately.  To reap the long-term benefits of gratitude, you have to have a practice – to build a HABIT of finding the blessings in the pain, the lessons in the challenges and the beauty in all things.

With this amazing Mercury retrograde cycle we’re in, it’s a wonderful time to really visit your habits and ensure that your daily routines and rituals are supporting you on focusing on what you want in your life.

Gratitude is focus with Heart.

I think we might all benefit from a little more of it….

The 14th Hexagram – Prosperity

The ability to know when to respond to bountiful opportunities.  And awareness of which path, experiences and relationships would produce the greatest wealth and abundance.

Affirmation:

I respond to the things which bring me joy. I pay attention to my excitement and passion and allow myself to trust that the Universe is deliciously conspiring to find ways to support me in the pursuit of my passion. I do what I want to do. I do what feels correct. I honor my joy and excitement and commit to feeling good, knowing that this is the most important contribution I can make to the planet at this time.

Writing Assignment:

  1. Make a list of everything you are doing right now that you find inspiring and delicious. Make a commitment to yourself to follow at least one of these inspirations each day.
  2. What would your life look like if you only followed your passion? What would you be doing? What would your life feel like? What would be your energy level?
  3. Do you trust the Universe to support you in following your bliss? Is it okay to make money doing what you love? Can you do what you love and know that you will be supported?

Hexagram 34 – Power

The ability to know when the time is right to act powerfully.  The energy to use power to transform others.  The need to withdraw and integrate before acting with power.

Affirmation:

I trust the Universe to deliver to me the perfect opportunities to fulfill my dreams and intentions. I watch and wait for signs that clearly show me the next step. I know that my true power is in co-creation with the Universe and I know that Divine Mind has the perfect path for me.

Writing Assignment:

1. How are you leveraging your power and energy? Are you doing things that are not bringing you closer to your<dreams? What things do you need to stop doing in order to create a space for what you truly want?

2. What is your definition of power? Do you feel powerful? What can you do to be more powerful in your life?

3. What do you need to do to deepen your trust in the Universe? Are you showing up and doing your part in your life?
